At past PD Days, participants have provided feedback that they are looking for more engagement during sessions. Think about how you plan to engage the audience in what you are doing.
· Do you have an activity for your participants to do?
· Is there a way to get participants to join in your session by providing examples, sharing their own experiences or discussing their thoughts on a topic?
· Can you get participants working with a partner or a small group to consider one of the points you are presenting?
· Is there a way for your participants to voice their own ideas on your topic?

If you are looking for suggestions to incorporate the above ideas in to your session, please reach out to mbridge4@bcit.ca – the Faculty Development Coordinator in the LTC who can connect you with an Instructional Development Consultant to support you in creating the best version of your PD session.
Visit your classroom or designated space in advance of your session time to become familiar with the space, equipment and set up. Make sure you are familiar with the equipment and how to connect to the projector in the classroom. There are 15 minutes between sessions to allow you time to set up and prepare.

For those presenting outside, make sure you have something set up to identify yourself to the participants. Familiarize yourself with the campus and room locations in advance. https://www.bcit.ca/facilities/floor-plans
We encourage you to bring your own laptop to use during your presentations. You can borrow a laptop and other equipment from the AV Department located in SE12-104. You will need to pick up and return any equipment you borrow on event day beginning at 7:30 am. To arrange for equipment, please contact BCIT_AudioVisual_Services@bcit.ca
